Summary

Bleak House is de negende roman van de Engelse schrijver Charles Dickens. Het boek werd voor het eerst gepubliceerd in maandelijkse afleveringen in de periode maart 1852-september 1853 en in 1853 in één deel van 624 pagina's bij de uitgeverij Bradbury & Evans. De eerste editie was geïllustreerd door Phiz (het pseudoniem van Hablot Knight Browne). Dit boek gebruikt de raciale en andere scheldwoorden uit zijn tijd zoals ze geschreven zijn; de Boekgids legt deze woorden uit waar ze voorkomen.
