Summary
The Faerie Queene is het belangrijkste werk van de Engelse dichter Edmund Spenser. Het is een episch gedicht geschreven in de vorm van allegorieën. De eerste publicatie, die drie boeken omvatte, vond plaats in 1590. In 1596 verscheen het werk opnieuw, bewerkt en aangevuld tot een totaal van 6 delen. Dit boek bevat gewelddadige scènes zoals de auteur ze heeft geschreven.
