Summary

Mansfield Park is een roman van de Engelse schrijfster Jane Austen. Het boek werd tussen 1812 en 1814 geschreven in Chawton Cottage, waar ze van haar broer mocht intrekken nadat haar vader was gestorven. In 1814 werd het boek gepubliceerd door Thomas Egerton, die ook twee eerdere romans van Austen, Sense and Sensibility en Pride and Prejudice publiceerde. Mansfield Park wordt vaak Jane Austens "probleemroman" genoemd, een roman die geen gemakkelijke interpretatie toelaat vanwege de sterke tegenstrijdige gevoelens die hij opwekt bij de lezers.
