Summary

Little Dorrit is een roman geschreven door Charles Dickens en oorspronkelijk gepubliceerd als feuilleton tussen 1855 en 1857. Het verhaal gaat over Amy Dorrit, het jongste kind van haar familie, die geboren en opgevoed is in de Marshalsea, een gevangenis voor schuldenaren in Londen. Arthur Clennam komt haar tegen nadat hij na 20 jaar weg te zijn geweest terug thuiskomt, klaar om zijn leven opnieuw te beginnen. Dit boek gebruikt de raciale en andere scheldwoorden uit zijn tijd zoals ze geschreven zijn; de Boekgids legt deze woorden uit waar ze voorkomen.
