Das Haus der Freude (Originaltitel: The House of Mirth) ist ein Roman der nordamerikanischen Autorin Edith Wharton (1862–1937). Vor der Herausgabe als Buch im Verlag von Charles Scribner – am 14. Oktober 1905 – wurde er ab Januar 1905 zunächst in Scribner’s Magazine in elf Folgen veröffentlicht und zog eine große Leserschaft an. Bis Ende 1905 waren bereits 140.000 Exemplare des Romans verkauft, ein bis dahin bei Scribner noch nie erreichter Rekord.
