Summary

Byron's unfinished epic satire follows the young Don Juan from his Spanish boyhood through shipwreck, a Greek island, a Turkish harem, the Russian court and an English country house, with the narrator's digressions on poets, politics and love. This edition gives sixteen cantos and the fragment of the seventeenth. This book uses the racial and other slurs of its period as written; the Book Guide explains these words where they occur. This book contains scenes of violence as its author wrote them.
